About iDIA
We are more than a nonprofit. We are an intergenerational alliance.
Who We Are

Our purpose is to safeguard, reawaken, and share cultural, spiritual, ecological, technological, and well-being teachings to strengthen the health and futures of our peoples.
Through intergenerational pathways, iDIA brings together youth, elders, and allies to revitalize language and creative expression, restore relationships with land and water, protect Indigenous data and digital sovereignty, responsibly explore emerging technologies, and nurture community well-being, self-determined leadership, and thriving Indigenous futures.
iDIA bridges ancestral wisdom with future-forward innovation to cultivate thriving Indigenous futures rooted in sovereignty, balance, and brilliance.

Led With Heart
At iDIA, we lead with heart.
We see the heart as the living center where knowledge becomes care, where ideas are nurtured like seeds, and where innovation grows from compassion. Health and well-being are not separate initiatives they are living threads woven through everything we do.
This heart-centered approach ensures that each pillar uplifts whole-person and whole-community well-being cultivating spaces rooted in care, connection, and compassion, where healing and self-determined futures can thrive.
Our Guiding Approaches
We weave three interconnected frameworks into everything we do:
Decolonizing Methodology
We challenge colonial power structures and reclaim Indigenous knowledge, governance, and ways of being. We honor the sovereignty of Indigenous data, stories, and intellectual property.
Participatory Action Research
We design all projects with and for the community — not on or about them. Youth, elders, and cultural knowledge holders are collaborators and co-researchers.
Trauma-Informed & Heart-Centered
We recognize the ongoing impacts of historical and intergenerational trauma. We create emotionally safe, culturally grounded, and supportive spaces where people can engage with care.
