Youth-Led Storytelling
Most media training programs for youth focus on production skills first and identity somewhere down the line, if at all. iDIA Sparks flips that order. The starting point is always a young person’s own story and perspective the skills (storytelling structure, podcasting, video production, editing) exist to help them tell that story well, not to fit their experience into someone else’s format.

Who is it for
iDIA Sparks is for Indigenous youth ages 14–24 who want to build real media skills but the entry point isn’t a portfolio or prior experience; it’s interest. Some participants come in already making content on their own and want more structured training and mentorship; others have never touched a camera or recording setup and are drawn in by wanting to tell a specific story that’s been on their mind.
