Through oral history recording, language documentation, and protected digital archives, we ensure stories, songs, and teachings are safeguarded for generations to come, with community governance and data sovereignty at the center. iDIA Voices exists to make sure that loss isn’t a foregone conclusion by building the infrastructure and relationships needed to record, protect, and pass forward what elders and language keepers carry.

Who is it for
iDIA Voices is for elders and language keepers who hold stories, songs, and teachings they want protected and carried forward, and for the families and younger generations who will eventually need access to what’s been recorded. Someone doesn’t need to think of themselves as “having something important to say” to participate; a lot of what makes an oral history valuable only becomes clear later, to people who weren’t in the room when it was recorded.
